1. During Feb. 23-25, 2015, Meetings Africa will be held at the Sandton Conference Center of Johannesburg. Meetings Africa is the chief and the most representative business and award tourism exhibition in African mainland.
2. The cholera epidemic data released by Ghana's health bureau showed that the cholera still continued. Last week, cholera cases in Ghana increased 104 and 2 persons died of the disease; there were no death cases but 137 new ones the week before last.
3. The Daily News reported that Tanzania was expected to become the nation with the second most livestock in Africa following Ethiopia. However, there are no veterinary officer yet in 60 districts and 7 provinces of Tanzania.
4. According to The Guardian, Tanzania is seeking for overseas investors to develop geothermal resources, by which the electric energy produced may surpass 5000 MW per year. Once the project is completed, the electricity price will be expected to drop 20%.
5. According to the Daily News, a global report said that as plenty of natural gas was discovered and exploited, Tanzania will increase the demand for housing and office space and the real estate economy will experience a rapid growth.
6. According to the Citizen, Tanzanian government submitted the new VAT act of 2014 to the parliament recently. The new act aims to improve state tax revenue and ensure tax payers to pay VAT, especially that on imported products.
7. The 66-year-old king Bansah in Hoboe, a city in the southeast of Ghana is not wedded to the traditional governance manner. He rules his citizens by VOIP and lives in Germany.
8. WHO admitted that Ebola epidemic situation in West Africa was easing for the first time on Dec. 1 and officially declared that the status of the disease in Spain ended on Dec. 2. So far, the largest Ebola in history showed up since the end of last year and its development track showed a "turning point" after undergoing deterioration, escalating and out of Africa.
9. On Dec. 2, China and Cape Verde reached a mutual visa-free agreement for persons holding diplomacy and service passports.
10. The historic united military exercise using full set of Chinese weapons between China and Tanzania was completed.
11. Following the issuance of the new automobile policy on Oct. 3, Nigeria has begun to manufacture auto--IVM, of which 70% of the accessories was made in Nigeria, thus the government provides strong support for the production of such automobile.
12. The five African countries that are influenced most by the oil price falling include Ghana, Libya, Nigeria, Angola and Algeria.
